The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC) is devoted to commemorating the more than 100 million victims of communism around the world
pursuing the freedom of those still living under totalitarian regimes, and educating future generations about the ideology, history, and legacy of communism. Today, one-fifth of humanity still lives under single-party communist regimes that commit some of the worst human rights abuses on the planet. Despite communism’s record of oppression and bloodshed, new generations are warming to collectivist ideas because they don’t know the facts about the true nature and history of communism.
We must remind a forgetful world and an uninformed new generation that true socialism is slavery, and communism kills
By supporting VOC, you become a partner in our mission to:
- Preserve the memory of victims of communism and freedom fighters through tools like our award-winning Witness Project mini-documentary series
- Provide professional development for teachers at our annual Educator Seminar and curriculum Communism: Its Ideology, Its History, and Its Legacy
- Educate new generations about the dangers of communism by hosting lectures, conferences, and film screenings at college and high school campuses
- Conduct an annual poll on U.S. Attitudes Toward Socialism, Communism, and Collectivism to expose the American public’s lack of serious understanding of socialism and communism
- Partner with local commissions and community leaders to raise awareness about communism here in America
- Engage with policymakers to document the crimes committed by communist regimes and condemn the destructive effects of Marxism
- Expose ongoing human rights violations in the existing communist nations of China, Cuba, Laos, North Korea, and Vietnam
- Raise the voices of heroes in places that are losing ground to socialism and communism, such as Crimea, Hong Kong, Nicaragua, Ukraine, and Venezuela
